Firkin, Wirkin, Jellykin, jelly Birkin… the Birkin dupe trend has created a whole vocabulary. Here's each term, explained simply.

    Birkin

The original Hermès bag: leather, handmade, several thousand euros. The icon everyone imitates.

    Dupe

A bag inspired by a cult silhouette without copying the brand or the logo. It's not a counterfeit: it's an owned wink.

    Firkin (or Jelly Firkin)

The dupe in translucent jelly material (TPU). The name comes from fake + Birkin. Light, colourful, waterproof — the star of 2026.

    Jelly Birkin

Another name for the Firkin: the 'jelly Birkin'. Same product, different name depending on the region.

    Wirkin

The dupe sold by Walmart (hence the 'W'), in a synthetic leather version. The trend that launched the phenomenon in the US.

    Jellykin

A blend of jelly and Birkin, yet another nickname for the jelly bag. Not to be confused with the plush brand Jellycat!

    In short

They all point to the same idea: the codes of luxury, in a fun and accessible version. The most accomplished jelly one? The jelly Firkin — which you'll find at Firkin Jelly, in a Mini too, with charms.
